MissionLabs.ai was founded by John Napoli to empower businesses and organizations to thrive in the age of artificial intelligence. We provide expert AI consulting services that guide our clients through the complexities of AI adoption, helping them unlock innovative solutions and drive operational excellence. In addition to our consulting expertise, we actively invest in cutting-edge AI technologies and startups, fostering the next generation of intelligent solutions. By combining strategic insight, advanced AI capabilities, and investment in transformative technologies, we aim to create lasting value, drive business growth, and accelerate the development of the AI ecosystem for a smarter, more sustainable future.

Prior to MissionLabs.ai, John was the Head of Transformation, Artificial Intelligence, &. Delivery (TRAID) for Guardian Life Insurance (GLIC). Guardian is a 160-year-old Fortune 250 company that has invested heavily in modernization and transformation with over $800 billion in life insurance in force, $95 billion in assets under management, $11 billion in capital, $1.7 billion in operating income, and annually declares ~$1.4 billion in policyholder dividends as of February 2025.

In this role, John partnered with the businesses to spearhead enterprise transformation, automation, transparency, and strategic execution to continuously improve delivery, reduce waste, increase productivity, and ultimately positively impact GLIC’s bottom line. This team empowered the many positive changes already happening in GLIC by providing a holistic integrated approach to business architecture, process optimization & improvement, the operating model, digitization, insights, portfolio management & reporting, and more. It also catalyzed Guardian’s investment in Al by providing company-wide alignment, identifying use cases, managing implementation roadmaps, and tracking benefits.

Previously, John was the Chief Operating Officer of J.P. Morgan Chase’s (JPMC) Chief Technology and Data Offices. His responsibilities included overseeing the firmwide strategy, governance, and risk & control guardrails for the firm’s public cloud, artificial intelligence & machine learning, data management, engineer experience, distributed ledger, service management, low code, Web3, and quantum computing platforms. John also managed JPMC’s Intellectual Property organization covering the firm’s patents, copyrights, trademarks, and trade secrets. Finally, John was Chief Information Officer (CIO) for the firm’s Intelligent Solutions product line that empowered automation through innovative capabilities that span business process and decision modeling, business intelligence, data transformation, low code workflows, robotic process automation, document understanding, and more.

John was with JPMC for about 10 years holding several senior leadership positions including
COO of the firm’s $15 billion, 55K+ employee Global Technology organization, Chief Financial and Operating Officer of JPMC’s Asset & Wealth Management Technology & Operations organizations, and Chief of Staff for Markets and investor Services Technology within the Corporate & Investment Bank.

John has over 28 years in financial services technology and operations as an employee for firms such as Deutsche Bank, Broadridge, and the New York Stock Exchange (SIAC); as a management and technology consultant; as a financial services lead for a technology company BEA Systems (acquired by Oracle), and as a founder of a related system integration firm, Prime Business Consulting.

John graduated with a Masters of Business Administration in Finance & Management and Masters of Science in Computer Science from New York University, as well as a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science from Georgetown University. John is also a certified AWS Machine Learning Specialist, AWS Cloud Solutions Architect, and Scaled Agile Framework (SAFe) 5 Agilist.

John lives in Stamford, CT with his 19 and 17 year old daughters and his 14 year old son. He enjoys skiing, sailing, and maximizing his time with friends and family when not at work.
